- We have several standalone VMS workstations at our facility running
- the VWS windowing system. When I upgrade the OS on these machines I've
- found it convenient (and time-saving) to copy a system image to tape,
- then use Standalone Backup to move the tape image to the target machine.
- (After this is done, I have a procedure to change the node name, Decnet &
- IP numbers, license database, etc) This works fine except when moving from
- an 8-plane color system to a monochrome system (Vaxstation 3100/38).
- In the latter case, the mouse tracks about 3 inches lower than it should -
- its as if the system thinks the small operator window is active.
- There is some sysgen parameter or system logical that must be changed
- when moving from a color to a monochrome system. (I solved this problem
- several years ago, but now I can't remember & can't locate the solution)
- Can anyone help me out on this?
