  10. I just shelled out the bucks for a NEC CDR-83 CD-ROM drive and am attempting
  11. to get it to work, but am running into a number of difficulties.
  12.  
  13. 1.  The generic driver from hobbes doesn't seem to work.  It simply thinks
  14. that it is another floppy drive.
  15. 2.  The disks don't go into the drive, they stick out part way.  Is this
  16. normal?  I haven't seen a CD-ROM drive yet that does this.
  17. 3.  Every time anything tries to access the drive, the disk kicks out, from
  18. what little way it went in and I get a device not ready error message.
  19. 4.  There are no external terminators.  I assume this means that it is
  20. automatically terminated, but I am not sure and there is *nothing* in the
  21. manual about it.
  22. 5.  Assuming the disks are in correctly and they are supposed to stick out
  23. part way, the disk doesn't spin up at all.

  26. 6.  WOULD SOMEBODY *PLEASE* FIX THE FUTURE DOMAIN 1680 SCSI DRIVER?  The mouse
  27. pointer freezes *EVERY* time the hard drive is accessed.  This is REALLY
  28. annoying

  34. Future Domain 1680 SCSI adapter
  35. Paradise Pro VGA card
  36. NEC Intersect CDR-83 CD-ROM drive
