- I don't know about VRAM I drivers. I have been able to make the 1024i
- drivers work with the CSD installed. The procedure is different. I
- did NOT replace display.dll in the \OS2\DLL directory. That is not
- the same thing as the display driver. From instructions I found somewhere
- (readme file?) I created another directory called DISPLAY in the root
- of my OS/2 disk. I put that directory name in LIBPATH *BEFORE* the
- \OS2\DLL directory. Into that directory I put display.dll and monitor.dll.
- Somehow, OS/2 is able to find the correctly display.dll for each use by
- installing this way.
-
- The 1.x driver runs as well (or badly) as it did with G.A. No seamless
- windows (not a big problem for me, I'd prefer it, but I rather have
- the higher resolution than seamless windows). Also when I boot up, I
- get a weird look WPS screen. To clean up the screen, I use Ctrl-Esc
- to pop-up the Window List. I then press Alt-Space to get the system
- menu and then X to maximize the Window List. It still looks bad. I then
- select a full screen session (I have one in my startup folder). It comes
- us with some junk. Then I press Ctrl-Esc to get the Windows List again.
- Finally Alt-F5 restores the window list to normal size and the screen
- is repainted correctly. Press Esc to get rid of the window list if you
- don't need it. This sounds complicated but it is really easy.
-
- One other thing however. I tried to install higher resolution Windows
- drivers but they mess up badly. Since I don't use Windows heavily,
- I live with that. WPS high resolution is more important to me.
-
- But Video-7 or whoever they are now is history as far as I'm concerned.
- When a company lies as blatantly as they did (I remember the messages
- and announcements you mentioned, they implied almost stated that they
- were in beta testing last spring, later they said that they really hadn't
- started and blamed IBM), it looses my business very fast.
-
- I don't know if my procedures given above will help. Good luck.
