  17. I have a VRAM VGA I  (not II).

  19. I've been extremely pleased with this card in every respect EXCEPT 
  20. OS/2 support.  I (like you) have sent them at least 20 different
  21. mails (on their support BBS) asking what the deal is, and they
  22. have lied to me, changed their story, and finally just said 
  23. "No, we're not writing any OS/2 drivers."

  25. Way back in early march of '92, I had asked them about OS/2 drivers and 
  26. they claimed that they were working on them... They had said at that
  27. time that they would be finished by the end of March, or early
  28. April.  Fine, so I wait about 4 weeks, and call 'em again.
  29. This time they say "We aren't quite done yet, it will be another 3 or 4 
  30. weeks, call us then."

  32. So its the end of April, and I call 'em up and ask once again, this time
  33. "OS/2 drivers?  We can't write any because IBM hasn't released any of
  34. the code we need."   I say "What??? You said that they would be DONE by now!!!"
  35. they say: "No, we haven't even started yet..."  I say "so when do you think
  36. they'll be done now???"  they say: "Not until august at the earliest, maybe
  37. even later."

  39. So I let 'em go for a month or so (on the OS/2 topic anyway) and check back
  40. this september only to discover that they have been bought by someone else,
  41. and they won't be offering ANY tech support on the BBS until some later
  42. point in time.  The message on the support BBS now says something to the
  43. effect of  "There is NO projected date for OS/2 2.0 drivers, until such time
  44. please use the OS/2 1.2 drivers..."  Unfortunately the 1.2 drivers don't
  45. work at all with the CSD installed...

  47. I personally have decided to get off of the Video Seven boat, as I'm afraid
  48. they are sinking fast.  They made great cards in their heyday, and were
  49. once the very best in support, but now the mighty have fallen and they 
  50. seem to be abandoning everything but autocad and windows.

  52. And since I use OS/2 24 hours 7 days a week now (no dos EVER!!!! :-)
  53. I can't live with any more "it will be out Real Soon Now" excuses.

  55. I'm probably going to get an ATI or a Radius card...

  57. Oh, by the way, the generic Video Seven driver just put out (vga800.dll) 
  58. doesn't work with my card either, same problem. I guess only the VRAM II
  59. works with it...
