  12. LP |I am trying to install OS/2 2.0 on a PS/2 80. When the installation is
  13. LP |completed and the system is restarted everything is OK until the moment
  14. LP |the desktop is supposed to apper. Insted the PC shows a white screen
  15. LP |and there is periodic activity on the disk.

  17. You do not say how long you are waiting on the "periodic activity" to cease. 
  18. Though it has been a long while since I installed OS2, I do recall an 
  19. extremely long period of time for the first desktop to be built. I read 
  20. reports of this taking up to thirty minutes on some systems.

  22. I suggest that you at least wait until the disk activity stops, and then give 
  23. it another ten or fifteen minutes before declaring it dead on arrival.
