- I disagree. I run my software on $1800 486dx with 8mb and a 120md drive.
- my machine has not been powered down in 2 months! I have tcpip running
- with a x server, mail server, telnet server, ftp server, finger daemon
- and talk daemon. I run seamless windoze stuff at 800x600x256 on my
- diamond speedstar. I reboot twice a week (average).
-
- the only instability I ever see is while I'm installing a new driver or
- playing around with my config.sys. when I crash an individual program, I
- only have to kill it, not reboot the system. I can safely say the os/2
- is the most stable os that I can run software on. Sure UNIX is more
- stable but I can't afford to rob a bank each time I need an upgrade for
- my word processor. OS/2 is the *ONLY* way to go.
-
- my only complaint ---> I want a diamond speedstar driver so that I don't
- have to consider selling my card for an inferior one!!! Diamond, is
- there anyone home?????? you have a big following but you'll soon lose it
- if you don't make life easier for us people who actually want to use
- your card to the extent of it's capabilities.
