  42. There is no fire. The content of the original message is such that
  43. a proliferation of odd and assorted speculation that would run
  44. amuck, as things tend to do on the NET, was very likely.

  46. While you were clever enough to realise that this was not for real,
  47. too many other people take things like this to be gospel truth.

  50. What the message did start with was something to the effect of
  51. "Announcing the release of Borland C++ for OS/2". The diatribe that
  52. followed was full of the right marketing buzzwords and organized as
  53. such that at a quick glance looked like a marketing posting that
  54. was for real.

  56. Instead of calling people at Borland into question for attempting
  57. to set things straight, just ignore it and let it pass. I applaud
  58. Sidney and Dave for trying to set things straight after someone
  59. posted something that may not be so.
