- This may be true for versions of Excel for Windows but why does Excel
- version 2.21 for OS/2 refuse to run any more on my machine? If worked
- fine before the Service Pak but now it just gives a SYS3175 error and
- closes. This is a REALLY strange problem I think.
-
- I first tried to reinstall Excel but with no luck. I then copied the
- major files to floppy and tried them on a friends machine at it worked
- fine. On another machine it wouldn't work but then another one it
- would. Here is what I've tried in on so far:
-
- My machine (386-SX) OS/2 GA + SP: SYS3175 error
- Friends machine (386-33) OS/2 GA + SP: Runs fine
- Friends machine (386-SX) OS/2 with Win 3.1 beta: Runs fine
- Friends machine (486-33) OS/2 with Win 3.1 beta: SYS3175 error
- Friends machine (386-25) OS/2 GA + SP: Runs fine
-
- So far it's runs on 3 out of 5. Not the best odds.
-
- My machine should be 100% IBM compatible since it is a true IBM. (IBM
- PS/2 Model 55-SX). The other 386-SX is also an IBM machine as is the
- 386-25. The other 2 are clones.
-
- So anybody got any ideas on this what so ever. It has stumped me an
- every one else that I talked to.
-
- P.S. I've tried closing every apps except the desktop and 1 OS/2 window
- to start Excel, but still no luck. I've reinstalled about 4 times with
- no luck (reinstalled Excel).
-
- Thanks for any replies,
-
