- I tried this with a Gateay 2000, Diamond Speedstar and their
- monitor (Crystal Scan 1024i)
-
- I found that I had to set the monitor type to "fixed" to get
- 1024x768 and thus I needed the following two statements to
- get 1024x768 under MS-DOS.
-
- VMODE MONITOR
- VMODE 38
-
- And so I put these in a file setmode.bat as described above.
- However, this did not solve the problem. I can see the .bat
- file execute (after the workplace shell starts) and it changes
- the full screen dos session to 1024x768, however when it exits,
- it seems like the mode returns to the previous setings with a
- violent case of the swimmies.
-
- If anyone has gotten this combination to work properly, please
- let me know!

- Fortunately I saved a copy of the VGA display.dll and use the FAT
- file system. I just booted MS-DOS from floppy, restored the VGA
- display.dll and OS/2 came up properly with the 640x480 screen.
