  13.     In connection with Com ports, a friend with no access to this system asked me

  15. Trying to run windows 3.1 with mouse on COM 1, IO card having COM2 also on it, and the
  16. modem set to com3 (as windows refuses to see anything on com4).

  18. However both COM1 (mouse) Com3 (modem) share the same IRQ (13?) so when you use the 
  19. modem it locks up the mouse - andat the same time messes up the operation of the
  20. modem!

  22. What he would like to know is, will the COM EXTENSION KIT for WINDOWS solve this
  23. problem, or is there another way around this.
