- All right, here's a quick question.
-
- I'm interested in a program that can cut-and-paste images the way
- word processors do that for text. Now, Windows Paint does this very
- well, but for some reason I cannot convert GIF images to BMP and maintain
- the degree of image quality in the original. I am still trying to figure
- out how to save images as 8-bit (256 color) BMPs.
-
- Now, I am trying out Paintshop Pro, and a few other programs, but none
- of them seem to be able to do cut and paste within the original image.
- They just cut part of an image and turn it into a whole new image, which
- is useless for me (for one thing, I'm trying to repair--as much as
- possible--some images that got a bit scrambled during transmission
- over the net, things like Clint Eastwood with half of his face pushed
- away from the other half...everything else is okay but the image is not
- fully aligned...I'm also interested in making gag gifs, like Ronald
- Reagan's head on Nancy's body.)
-
- So, please, if anyone knows, can Paintshop Pro do cut-and-paste within
- the original image (or it's temp file of an image) and HOW do I do that.
- OR, if paintshop pro will not, does anyone know of programs that will?
- VGACAD does, but it seems that it will only save in 200 x 320 formats,
- so you lose a lot of detail.
-
- Massive thanks in advance. :)
