- I recently posted an inquiry about how to achieve automatic ligating in
- AmiPro. That is, I would like to type single letters like <f><f> and
- have AmiPro replace this when printing (and, if possible, on the screen
- as well) with an <ff> ligature.
-
- One reader commented that AmiPro couldn't do this. Another drew my
- attention to the TYPECHAR macro provided by Lotus with AmiPro as an
- optionally installable feature, commenting that this feature could do
- "exactly" what I was asking for.
-
- This macro does provide easier access to characters not traditionally
- available through the keyboard, but it does not provide for _automatic_
- ligating. That is, even using TYPECHAR, I still have to insert an <ff>
- ligature explicitly; I can't get one by typing separate <f> and <f>.
-
- Has anyone discovered a way of providing for automatic ligating in
- AmiPro? Or am I just out of luck?
-
- Thanks,
-
- David
