- JM> The SRP of Microsoft Access will NOT be $695 but $495 after 31
- JM>January.
-
- JM>Well, the part of Microsoft that does publicity and puts out hte
- JM>Focus on Microsoft Windows magazine says that it will be
- JM>$695. Look at the order form/ad in the center of the magazine:
- JM>the note under the $99 for Acess says that "After January 31, 1991,
- JM>the suggested retail price will be $695."
-
- Microsoft at the announcement on 11/16 has now changed the regular
- retail price to $495. This way they can say they are 33% cheaper than
- the list price of Paradox for Windows. The stock market re-acted
- by lowering the price of both Microsoft and Borland in anticipation
- of the upcoming database battleroyal where it is obvious the both
- parties are going to be willing to do anything to win.
