- I've never heard of UNIX for Windows either, but I'd like to comment on
- your description of SGI as System V. You're right, IRIX (SGI's version
- of UNIX) is based on System V but it does include BSD extensions. To
- get the maximum BSD compatibility, simply #define _BSD_COMPAT or compile
- with -D_BSD_COMPAT. In addition, you will need to link with -lbsd,
- possibly -lsun, and perhaps others depending on your particular release
- of IRIX. See the section on BSD Compatibility under "man 3 intro".
