We are trying to incoporate graphs from the XVGR program on our Sun Workstations into W4W documents for the purpose of writingup reports etc. W4W only accepts ENCAPSULATED Postscript files and so at present we save the graph on under XVGR using HPGL format (Hewlett Packard Graphics Language Format) then import into the W4W document using the HPGL filter supplied. This works OK but when we come to print the document, it takes ages since W4W produces a Postscript File that is based upon the filtered version
of the graph (containing lots of little line segments etc.) and the Laser Printer takes a very long time to interpret the resulting PostScript file.
I think that if the graph we are incoporating could be read in as Postscript or converted to EPS before including, then things would be much simpler and quicker. Is there a PS to EPS converter (for either DOS or UNIX) that any one knows of; or is there a Postscript Filter available instead of the standard EPS filter in W4W? Or is there a completely different approach?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
