Howdy --
I just set up qvtne303.zip, which seems to be dated 11-12-92. It works
quite well, and installation seemed very simple.
However, I can't seem to escape the default keypad mapping, no
matter how I alter qvtnet.ini. I've tried just about every combination; currently I have keypad=IBM, nl_mode=unlock. I would like to have my backspace (or delete)
key function normally in telnet, rather than simply echo "^H" (or the DEC ansi string).
Yes, I realize ^H is ansi 8, the bckspace. The only time I get my backspace to behave normally is when the login prompts for a terminal type, and I intentionally give it a nonsense response, setting the remote host to "dumb".
I realize part of the problem may be the way my .login and .profile are set up on the remote Unix machines... but I don't have this problem when I log in with ncsa telnet, or with the SVR4/386 telnet program, or with the vt220 emulator I use with my dial-in lines.
I'd appreciate any help; the info in the release notes is pretty slim.
A side question: is there any chance the terminal mode will offer Tek 4010 (
