I have some questions about Windows 3.1:
-A while ago I got myself a D/A convertor to connect to LPT1:, so that I could play for example MOD-files. Now I would like to play sounds using Windows 3.1. Unfortunately, I don't have a driver. I've tried all FTP-sites I know, but I've only found a Disney Sound Source driver: I tried to use this driver, but this only resulted in my machine crashing...
Does anybody know a driver for my D/A converter? I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could help me out.
-My machine is a 386sx with 2MB of RAM, DOS 5.0 and I use QEMM 6.0. When I run Windows in standard modus, I only got 741 KB free memory. Manifest reports that my total amount of free memory is 1520 KB, so Windows seems to occupy 779KB.
When I don't use QEMM or EMM386.EXE, the amount of free memory is approx. 1100 KB. I don't understand why loading high some TSR's takes such a lot of memory. Could anybody help me?
-I made a swapfile of 4080 KB, but when I go to "Info" in the Program Manager, I only have a maximum of 3220 KB free memory. Why doesn't Windows use the complete swapfile (the amount of 4080 KB was the amount Windows recommended).
If anybody could help me, I would be very greatful.
