- Sorry if this looks a bit strange. My editor is real dumb.
-
- I have just begun using UNIX. Although I HATE learning the new commands,
- &, nohup and at are very usefull. For you non-unix types (suchas I used
- to be), & runs a program in the background, nohup continues to run a
- program after signoff and at runs a program at a predetermined time.
-
- I DO NOT want windows or any other windowing system. Is there any way to
- get these commands (or something else with similar purpose) in msdos
- short of either writing them myself or switching to 386bsd? I have heard
- of a unix like shell for the AppleII gs platform. It seems like if in can
- be done on a gs, It should be possible in msdos. I guess nohup isn't too
- important, since you really can't log off of a pc.
-
- I would appreciate an address of who to write for a catalog, if you can
- find it.
- Thanks,
- Andy
