- Alas, Matlab seems to be causing more than just VM problems. I had same
- problem as poster with 4 Mb already set as maxmem, I have tried taking
- it up to 8Mb on a 16Mb PC and it is *still* very slow to plot
- e.g several minutes to plot a 32 x 900 element pseudocolour plot from
- RAM.

- None of our NCDs have more than 4Mb RAM and they cope fine, as of course do
- the HP 9000/720 host machines.

- PC was in 640x400x256 colour mode. HP/Paradise VGA card. 20HHz 386dx.
