- I would be interested in hearing from anyone with experience
- (or inexperience) with running Windows 3.1 remotely with
- DV/X.
-
- My display would be on a DECstation 5000 running X at
- 1280x1024x256. The PC would be a 33MHz 386 w/ 8MB RAM, ethernet
- card and TCP/IP.
-
- What is the procedure to get windows running
- on the PC to display on the workstation?
-
- Once one gets it up are the resources of the workstation available
- to windows, (ie the full screen and color resolution).
-
- In a setup like this how is performance? The two main applications
- right now would be MathCAD 3.1, and WordPerfect for Windows.
-
- What are the main performance variables? Speed of the ethernet
- card, speed or memory on the PC etc.?
-
- Thanks,
-
