- The 3c503 and NE2000 ethercards are not WD80[01]3 ethercards! You
- must have a WD8003 or WD8013 to run Linux 0.98.*.

- I do have the NE2000 ethernet driver in alpha test, and the 3c503
- driver will be announced in a few weeks, so don't throw away your
- current ethercard and buy a new one. Unless, of course, you have a
- 3c501 (which shows no promise of being able to out-perform a serial
- card).

- If you are planning to purchase an ethercard for use under Linux you
- might want to wait a few weeks to see if anyone posts performance
- results. It might be worth your time, as NE2000 clones are < $100.
