- I've just gotten hold of Linux 0.98 and installed the base system
- using the SLS distribution. So far so good. Unfortunately I only have
- a 43Mb HD here, so I can't install everything I want using the SLS
- distribution (I need the compilers, a couple of tools, some network
- stuff and X11). So I'm just ftping the relevant stuff, downloading to
- floppies and I'm going to install it myself.
-
- My first stupid question is: why do I get the error "must be superuser"
- when I enter the command "mount mnt fd0:" after logging on as root. I
- thought root was superuser. Also when I run adduser I *must* give superuser
- priveleges to every user I add or else it just loops. Yet if I log on as the
- new user I get the same error executing mount.
-
- So what stupid thing am I doing wrong here? And how do I fix it?
- Any ideas much appreciated.
