- While recompiling all programs, I found that I miss source code for a
- few things:
-
- - fsck.c I have an old copy, but it doesn't compile on 0.98.pl4 with
- GCC 2.2.2d. Where can I find a current version of system utils like
- fsck ?
-
- - mount. I have an old version, but it seems to have bugs and there is
- no proc support.
-
- - file. I found an old version, but is there a newer version which
- supports Linux in /etc/magic?
-
- - Where is the ps patch for 0.98.pl4? I saw Linus mentioning such a
- patch, but somehow I am unable to find the article.
-
- - groff. I miss patches for Linux. The patches I found don't result
- in a compilable version, at least last time I tried them. I didn't
- see an announce for new patches since then.
-
- I already looked in the usual archives (tsx-11,sunsite,muenchen,nic),
- but there are so many old versions, old binaries etc. floating around.
- People who upload files should let delete them when they get obsolete!
-
- I asked several people and all miss exactly these things, too. I prefer
- to have source code for all things, which seems to be difficult.
