- Some of the best books on EGA/VGA graphics that would be great for
- getting info on device driver programming are...
-
- Programmer's Guide to the EGA/VGA Cards by Richard F. Ferraro (Addison-Westly)
- PC & PS/2 Video Systems by Richard Wilton (Microsoft Press)
-
- Both of those are great and may be the best available. Both have very
- clear writing and don't skimp on details. Examples are in C and assembler
- for the Ferraro book and mostly assembler in Wilton's book. I have both
- and was able to go from nothing to good working knowledge of the graphics
- systems. Both will help you learn more about assembly and C.
-
- Anyway, for anyone writing the device drivers, these two books would
- be a big help. I recommend getting both because they kind of compliment
- each other, covering things better than each other from time to time.
