  14. getting info on device driver programming are...

  16. Programmer's Guide to the EGA/VGA Cards by Richard F. Ferraro (Addison-Westly)
  17. PC & PS/2 Video Systems by Richard Wilton (Microsoft Press)
  18.  
  19. Both of those are great and may be the best available.  Both have very
  20. clear writing and don't skimp on details.  Examples are in C and assembler
  21. for the Ferraro book and mostly assembler in Wilton's book.  I have both
  22. and was able to go from nothing to good working knowledge of the graphics
  23. systems.  Both will help you learn more about assembly and C.

  25. Anyway, for anyone writing the device drivers, these two books would
  26. be a big help.  I recommend getting both because they kind of compliment
  27. each other, covering things better than each other from time to time.
