  13.     Apparently I've been unable to post for more than month
  14. and (it is insidious torture to post, see the post locally and then wait
  15. by the tube waiting for a reply that will never come!). My litany
  16. of problems are:
  17.     1. Can't post using the installable wnews from Bob@mwc.
  18.     2. Can't get Taylor binaries from Bob@mwc to work.
  19.     2. Can't make source for Taylor (lack Bison for parsedate?)
  20.     3. Can't retrieve files from Internet (see below).
  21.     4. Running qfind -b brings down my aha (Adaptec SCSI) driver
  22. and freezes the hard disk.

  24.     I'm pulling out my hair trying to get internet stuff by
  25. way of an mail-ftp-server. Using Coherent's uucp, I have no
  26. trouble communicating to my link to the net, but once that
  27. machine has retrieved the file and tries to send it to me I get:

  41.     The tilde expansion works fine when my uucp requests
  42. a file from a remote machine. But in the case of the mailserver,
  43. the remote is sending something to me and the tilde expansion fails.
  44.      When the remote system uses a hard-coded pathname
  45.  to uucppublic or /tmp, everything works!
  46.     The mail-server is automated, so it's not feasible to
  47. hard code the pubdir pathname.

  49.     I thought I might have better luck with the Taylor uucp
  50. and installed binaries Bob@mwc sent (uucico, uuxqt, uucp, uux). I
  51. wrote sys and port configuration files that seem to work only so
  52. far. When I talk to my netlink, I get:
