- Gidday,
-
- I hope this is an appropriate place to post this request. If anyone knows
- of any other news groups I could also post it, let me know.
-
- Basically, my situation is this...
-
- At my work (Computer Based Education section of the Queensland University
- of Technology) we are starting a project in Language Learning using
- Videodiscs as a primary resource. At some stage in the game we will be
- getting students to repeat things that have been said on the videodisk
- (or stuff played on a soundblaster card), and they will be able to here
- themselves back to compare.
-
- At some point (though this is not planned yet) we may be looking at
- displaying some kind of frequency curve (if you know what I mean) of what
- they say so they can compare that to what they heard (the frequency curve
- of which would also be displayed). Note, I am not talking about a graphic
- representation of the sound wave as that would appear as just so much
- jibberish.
-
- Does anyone know of any software to provide this (of necessity running
- under Windows and supporting the SoundBlaster16 card), or any simple way
- of getting it done? I need to know now what is available so when the time
- comes to move I can move.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Tim.
