  12. I hope this is an appropriate place to post this request.  If anyone knows
  13. of any other news groups I could also post it, let me know.

  15. Basically, my situation is this...

  17. At my work (Computer Based Education section of the Queensland University
  18. of Technology) we are starting a project in Language Learning using
  19. Videodiscs as a primary resource.  At some stage in the game we will be
  20. getting students to repeat things that have been said on the videodisk
  21. (or stuff played on a soundblaster card), and they will be able to here
  22. themselves back to compare.

  24. At some point (though this is not planned yet) we may be looking at
  25. displaying some kind of frequency curve (if you know what I mean) of what
  26. they say so they can compare that to what they heard (the frequency curve 
  27. of which would also be displayed).  Note, I am not talking about a graphic
  28. representation of the sound wave as that would appear as just so much
  29. jibberish.

  31. Does anyone know of any software to provide this (of necessity running
  32. under Windows and supporting the SoundBlaster16 card), or any simple way
  33. of getting it done?  I need to know now what is available so when the time
  34. comes to move I can move.
