- I installed popmail-3.0 on a IBM XT runing 3.0 using the 3c503
- driver with no problems. The machine I had a problems with is a 386 100%
- IBM compatible running DOS 5.0 which has a 3c503 interface board. When I
- try to instal the 3c503 driver using:
-
- 3c503 0x7e 3 0x300 1
-
- the following message is returned:
-
- Packet driver for 3-Com 3C503, version 9.4.0
- Portions Copyright 1989, Robert C. Clements, K1BC
- Packet driver skeleton copyright 1988-91, Russell Nelson
- This program is free software; see the file COPYING for details.
- NO WARRANTY; see the file COPYING for details
-
- Packet driver is at segment 0D4B
- Using 80[123]86 I/O instructions.
- Shared RAM on 3C503 card is defective or there is an address conflict.
- Interrupt number 0x3 (3)
- I/O port 0x300 (768)
- Using the built-in transceiver (thinwire)
- My Ethernet address is 02:60:8C:4C:FC:57
-
- I tried the 3Com board on the PC and it worked fine. Then I changed the
- memory base address trying each segment number (c800, cc00, d800 and dc00)
- to check for a conflict on the 386, no success.
-
- Any information as to why this isn't working is greatly appreciated.
