-
- It's not a sendmail hack, it's a hack to mh-e.el that I want, that
- uses the GNU distributed mail-mode instead of mh-e's letter-mode. I
- don't want to touch the sendmail daemon code.

-
- My system most certainly is SMTP-based. It uses MH's send because MH
- has one. The functional difference is that mh-e passes the buffer to
- send, which passes the contents to the MTA; mail-mode passes the
- buffer directly to the MTA. Both regardless of which MTA is being used
- (sendmail, MMDF, etc).
-
- IP> You also may not have configured sendmail on your system.
-
- Sendmail is most certainly configured properly on my system. Otherwise
- mail wouldn't be work here.
-
- IP> If you run SVR4, you may not have sendmail configured.
-
- We're running SunOS 4.1.3. Sendmail is configured properly.

-
- 1) I'm familiar with mail-mode; I know how to use it.
-
- 2) I've written a number of neat extensions to mail-mode that break
- annoyingly in letter-mode and I don't feel like re-writing them.
-
- 3) I also use GNUS. GNUS' post and mail editing modes are based on
- mail-mode, and I'm trying for some consistancy (see #1).
