- Thanks, everybody, for pointing out the logical
- pathname and host facilities as being the kind of thing
- I needed to get portability across machines and systems. It works!

- As somebody else pointed out, this part of Steele is extremely
- obscure -- the very brief treatment in the MCL reference manual
- was actually very useful in giving another cut on the problem.
- So what is needed in an FAQ is mention of this facility along
- with a juicy example.
