  20. It may be an easy way, but it's not the most efficient way to
  21. get a news feed, and it's sure not what's intended by those of
  22. us who've mounted such services.  The goal is to provide a way
  23. for people who don't have easy access to news reading tools to
  24. have an online mechanism for browsing Usenet News.  Apparently some
  25. sites are actually downloading entire newsgroups -- especially 
  26. the binary ones -- from Gopher gateways.  I don't know of a Gopher
  27. client that will reassemble a series of files, uudecode them, and
  28. launch a GIF (or JPEG or FLI) viewer; sites that want local feeds
  29. of binary groups should provide them the old fashioned way, not by
  30. pointing to remote Gopher-Usenet gateways.
