  15. Description : Extrude field generates a 3D volume by applying a
  16.               transformation matrix defined by the parameters to a 2D
  17.               field. i.e. it "sweeps" a 2D field through 3-space to
  18.               generate a 3D (irreguler) field. There were some
  19.               researchers who had data sets that represented a slice of
  20.               something axisymetric in 3-space. With extrude_field,
  21.               one can recreate the 3D representation. This is also good
  22.               for people who have 2D data sets, but the modules that they
  23.               would like to use only accept 3D data sets.
