-
- This sounds like the Ericcson Mobidem and the Mobitex packet radio
- network. Motorola also has a similar but incompatible network called Ardis.
- Neither of them are cellular telephone systems, they are radio packet
- radio systems. Cellular telephone networks can also be used for the
- transmission of data.
-
- >The HP95LX also allows for local connection to a LAN via infrared. I think
- >the Poquet (propeil pocket computer) also supports such.
-
- Although the HP IR could be used for a network connection, the built-in
- software only only runs it at 2400bps and there is no HP IR <-->
- ethernet/whatever bridge/router. The port is mostly used for
- transfering data to another HP palmtop, calculator, or IR printer.
- Some people have written TCP/IP SLIP software for the HP. The Fujitsu
- Poqet PC has only a conventional option serial port.
