- Third Annual Internet Programming Contest Final Results
- -------------------------------------------------------
-
- The final results from the Third Annual Duke Internet Programming
- Contest are now complete. There were 291 teams that registered,
- submitting 890 programs to be judged and 152 questions/clarification
- requests. 127 teams were able to solve at least one problem out of
- the six possible. Any one team solved at most four problems. The
- teams represented institutions from at least 14 different countries on
- five continents.
-
- Some interesting statistics:
-
- Problem Submissions Correct
-
- 1 324 70
- 2 176 44
- 3 138 60
- 4 43 4
- 5 178 31
- 6 28 9
-
- (three submissions were for non-existent problems; some of the correct
- solutions were not counted because they were submitted too late.)
-
- The turnaround time for judging programs was quite good. All but one
- program were judged within six minutes of the time they arrived at our
- site; 90% of the programs were judged within three minutes. Even with
- the last minute surge of approximately 45 problems, the turnaround was
- fast. Responses to clarification requests were also pretty quick: All
- were answered within 9.5 minutes upon arrival, with 50% answered in
- under two minutes.
-
- The top five teams in each division are listed here, followed by the
- top ten teams overall. Complete scores and a list of teams can be
- retrieved from the host cs.duke.edu via anonymous ftp as the file
- dist/misc/acm_contest/results92.tar.Z.
-
- The problem description, actual test data, sample solutions, and
- expected output for all the problems will be available in the same
- directory as the file problems92.tar.Z within the next couple of days.
