  16. I am researching into the variations in telco tariffs across the USA
  17. and Canada.  It would be a considerable help if readers of this digest
  18. could Email me as much detail of *their* *local* tariff as they can
  19. manage.

  21. The sort of detail I need includes:

  23. Different rates of line rental - does it matter what the line terminates on?
  24. What are the charges for ISDN lines, where they are available?
  25. Are ISDN calls charged at different rates?
  26. Calls within a LATA - when are they chargeable?
  27. 800 calls - how are these charged: do 800-portable numbers cost more per call
  28. 700 calls - ditto.

  30. Particular interest in calls that for whatever reason access carriers
  31. via the less usual channels ... is it Feature Group D on 950 numbers?

  33. I am trying to establish the width of the variation, not the average!
  34. (I want to include the material in a conference presentation in London
  35. soon, dealing with equal access, numbering, tariffing and billing.
  36. The stories in this Digest on carrier billing, 900 scams, etc have all
  37. been very helpful).
