- Our main site uses an AGS+ to supply internal subnets as well as link
- to IGS routers at our remote facilities. Until yesterday all subnets used
- an 8 bit subnet mask. Now we have one site that changed all systems at the
- facility to use a 5 bit subnet. From that point things began to work strangely;
- how suprising.
-
- Neither the AGS+ nor IGS firmware supports variable length subnet masks. Are
- there any solutions to this problem other than changing back to an 8 bit mask
- or buying new firmware?
-
- It is my understanding that the new firmware supports variable masks only
- with OSPF. Is this true, and if so, should I expect any problems using OSPF
- and RIP together?
-
- ....appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
