- Just another note on the Intel 400. It's generally solid but
- with one drawback. It won't connect over 2400 baud with a
- Telebit Trailblazer. In my experience, the vendors we deal with
- have Telebits (and their proprietary standard PEP).

- The other modem that will only connect at 2400 baud is the
- US Robotics HST series.

- The limitation is clearly stated in the literature.

- Does anyone know the status of whether Intel is going to code around this?

- I imagine as modems get cheaper, people would be less likely to
- stay with the Trailblazers if other better products are offered
- that conform to non-proprietary standards.

- I checked the Intel bulletin board and found no mention of work
- being done to fix this problem.

- The good news is it connects reliably at 30k with other 14.4 modems
- with compression on of course.
