- Regarding the problems of Intel modems connecting with older 2400
- baud modems....I have a new Intel SatisFAXtion/400 and I had no
- success connecting to our campus host at 2400, but was fine at 9600
- baud (so why would I want 2400?). Intel tech support provided the
- answer...the 2400 baud modems were not "smart" modems, so all I had
- to do was issue the command string AT\N0\Q0\V0\J1 to shut down all
- of the error correction features, etc and the connection worked
- perfectly.
