- Here at my office we do daily file transfers (text files) with one of our
- clients. They have one of the Hayes V-Series modems. I don't remember which
- one, but it is a 9600 modem. We have been using a 2400 modem that came with
- the computer, but decided to speed things up. So, I went and bought an Intel
- SatisFaxtion 400e v32.bis 14.4. I used the Intel to connect to my local
- Internet site at 14.4 with no problem, but whenever we connect with the client
- the connection drops to 2400 baud immediately. I called intel, and they blame
- Hayes, saying that the V-Series modems aren't using the v32 standard.
-
- Now, my question. Is there anyway at all to make these 2 modems connect at
- 9600 baud, or did my company just blow $500 on a useless modem?
- (Not really useless, we will be able to use it with other clients eventually,
- but that's not the point)
-
- Thanks.
