- C A L L for P A P E R S
- 3RD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
- DEDUCTIVE AND OBJECT-ORIENTED DATABASES
- PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA
- DECEMBER 6-8, 1993
-
- Aim and Topics:
- Deductive databases and object-oriented databases are at the forefront
- of research in the next-generation intelligent database systems.
- Recently research has focused on integrating the object-oriented
- paradigm and rule-based deduction to provide a single powerful framework
- for intelligent database systems. The primary objective of DOOD'93 is
- to provide a common forum of technical discussions between
- researchers/developers of deductive databases and object-oriented
- databases, thereby accelerating the integration of the technical outputs
- of these two areas. This continues the direction established by the two
- very successful DOOD conferences held in 1989 in Kyoto, Japan, and in
- 1991 in Munich, Germany.
-
- The conference will address new developments in theoretical and
- practical aspects of deductive databases and object-oriented databases,
- with a special emphasis on the synthesis of these two disciplines and on
- their integration with other technologies. Papers are solicited that
- describe original and novel research within this framework. The
- following is a partial list of topics of interest:
-
- + Integrating DOOD with Existing Conventional DB Technology
- + Reactive Processing in DOOD
- + Integrating the Logic and Object Paradigms
- + Object Management in Deductive Databases
- + Operational DOOD Systems
- + Concurrent Logic/Object Programming
- + Integrity Enforcement in DOOD
- + Integration of DOOD with Programming Languages
- + Formalization of Object-Oriented Concepts
- + Heterogeneous DOOD Systems
- + Active Databases in DOOD
- + Active Object Management
- + Artificial Intelligence Techniques in DOOD
- + Rule Management in Object-Oriented Databases
- + Performance of DOOD Systems
- + Query Languages and Query Optimization
- + Applications of DOOD Systems
- + Advanced User Interfaces to DOOD
- + Consistency Checking in DOOD
