- Actually, my ten-year-old grand-daughter Chelsea finds the k12 groups
- boring. She prefers rec.equestrian, rec.running, and the rec.pets groups.
- She rarely plays games, although she enjoys Wolfenstein for a few minutes
- from time to time, and sees the computer (a 286/20 with a 125-meg disk and
- faxmodem which I recently gave her, FrontDoor and Waffle installed and
- operational...) as something with which she can learn. It certainly isn't a
- 'big deal' in her life.

- Chelsea wouldn't spend any time on a game machine for the same reason she
- doesn't like k12 - it's kid stuff :-)

- Yep - and the place of today's ten-year-old's is right here, on the net,
- where they can learn the things school won't get around to for another
- decade or so, like why a pet rat has scabby skin, or which pair of running
- shoes is best. It seems the height of arrogance to deny them access because
- of their age - frankly, I wonder if folks aren't simply afraid of these
- kids?
