  30. It helps if most of the articles from your feed sites are flowing from
  31. a single hub above:

  33.                   .    Internet hub (e.g., emory)

  35.                 .   .  Usenet news hubs (e.g., slammer, uumind)

  37.                  .     Well-connected Waffle (e.g., willard)

  39. You can then change your FEEDS file to say (using real-world examples):

  41.     slammer /path=emory /batch=comp16 *
  42.     uumind /path=emory /batch=comp16 *

  45. However, that approach won't catch everything.  When you receive the second
  46. copy from your second feed, because of cross-posts or whatever, that is the
  47. real source of your problems.  The REAL answer is to detect, and delete, the
  48. duplicate messages, prior to batching them up for feeding to the other site.

  50. There are several third-party software applications to remove dupes.. two of
  51. which I wrote (antidupe, wafhist), and another recently under discussion in
  52. this newsgroup (Kevin Houle's DupWeed -- posted as a UUE to the newsgroup).
