- Does anybody but me think there may be a privacy issue here? It's clearly an
- ethical principle of UUCP site operation that the sysop will not read messa-
- ges passing through the site. Does this extend to logging the transmision of
- a message? I.e., does the sender have the right to expect that the interme-
- diate site will do *nothing* but affix its postmark and send the message on
- its way? How would this square with the sysop's arguable right to keep rec-
- ords in order to detect mail loops, deliberate selection by the sender of in-
- appropriate transmission paths, etc.? I don't know how I'd answer this or
- even whether I think the same answer applies in all cases. Is there anything
- approaching a consensus among the Wafflers on the net?
