- I have been having problems for the past year, ever since
- switching from DV/DOS 3.3 to DV/DRDOS and now OS/2, with Waffle
- locking it's window with 386 instruction errors. It always occurs
- in one of two places:
-
- 1: After a new user answers "yes" to the "Are the above items
- correct" in the signup routine, or
- 2: After an existing user enters their password and presses <cr>.
-
- On a newuser lockup, the request file is written, and in both
- cases the status bar is updated just before the window locks. The
- OS/2 error message lists different memory locations most every
- time. I have the multitask: dos option set, and share is enabled
- under the VDM in OS/2. I used to locally log into Waffle by
- opening a window with "waffle online owen", but thinking that may
- have been causing problems, I now have two nodes setup (with two
- modems) using the channel: settings, two static and run.bat files
- etc, and log into the second window with F2 for my work, but I
- still get lockups.
-
- What is so confusing is that an existing user can call in one day,
- and suddenly his account locks the window, where it never caused
- problems before. I have completely deleted the password file and
- reentered the accounts, reinstalled Waffle from a new zip file,
- chanted various incantations over the keyboard, all to no avail.
- Could someone with the DOS sources tell me what Waffle does after
- the two senerios listed above so I might narrow down the problem?
