  18. benchmarks don't indicate a significant difference at higher speeds. 
  19. Depending on system load, I'm getting ~1300cps with uucico using PEP and
  20. about 1000cps
  21. using v.32bis (note: TURN COMPRESSION OFF WITH UUCICO).  Using zmodem,
  22. I'm seeing 1950cps with compressed files and 3500cps using text files
  23. (not to other WorldBlazers).  Something to remember is that even 'though
  24. you may have a blazing modem and a screecher 486, if the other site is
  25. ill-configured or loaded, etc., you'll not see high transfer rates.
