- Thanks to those people who have offered helpful suggestions.
-
- I have found out how to stop the "* Bad Header" errors that Waffle's uucico
- was producing on my Amstrad. As I said a few weeks ago, I was getting waffle
- binaries and spool files from a (pseudo) network drive which was transported
- over the Amstrad's other COM port (`network' on com1, internal modem on com2).
-
- When I put the spool files on a floppy drive on the Amstrad, suddenly my error
- rate went down to zero (or near enough). Conclusion: I can't use the two com
- ports on the Amstrad simultaneously.
-
- While I can transfer my uucp files with no problems now, this still leaves me
- with a problem. I'd like to store outgoing spool files on the hard disk on
- the other machine (the one the Amstrad is connected to via rs232), since I
- use it for mail/news reading, and only use the Amstrad for dialling out.
-
- Is it possible to store *incoming* spool files in one directory (on A:) and
- *outgoing* spool files in another (on C:)? Otherwise the Amstrad needs to
- be turned on whenever I queue up mail/news. I would prefer to only need to
- turn the Amstrad on when I am connecting to my feed; it causes TV interference.
-
- (Please let me know if this news article has bad headers etc.)
