- Just a note:
-
- Out of the TOP-10 BBS systems listed in this year's Boardwatch Magazine
- Top 100 BBS contest 3 of them were PCBoard systems. That is the highest
- percentage of any software used by TOP-10 systems.
-
- Of the TOP-100, PCBoard was the 2nd most used software, following
- TBBS.
-
- I am a firm believer that a sysop should choose the BBS package that
- best suits his/her needs. Sometimes that is PCB, sometimes it is not.
- One reason the PCB is so widely used is that it offers the functionality
- to do just about anything the average sysop would need to do.
-
- As with all products that target a wide user-base, PCB gets a bad rap
- just because it is used so much (like MSWindows, for example - I cant
- even count the number of anti-windows posts I've read).
-
- Anyway, I am a PCB sysop - not because I think its the BEST pacakge
- in the universe, but because it meets my needs. I suggest if PCB systems
- bother you so much, don't call them. But, please don't roll us PCB sysops
- into a single group of hitler-esque systyem operators. Some of us do run
- pretty good systems. Despite the fact we chose PCB :)
-
- Cheers,
- Howie
