  14. Regarding the the feasibility of building a competent, Turing-test proof
  15. computer system a la HAL: can anyone suggest references where the
  16. argument is made that such a system cannot be built?  I'm compiling a
  17. survey and I'd appreciate any help in the matter.

  19. Also of help would be suggestions about interface NLP systems that
  20. attempt to pass the Turing test by faking it (using template rules
  21. and manipulating syntax).
