- You are not a moron for believing that there is too much violence on TV anyway,
- ut it pretty easy to take shots at studies like that. Do they show correlation
- or cause? it's easier to show a correlation that to show a cause effect
- relationship: Violence on TV has increased (by what objective scale, one
- wonders), violence in society has increased, therefore violence on TV
- causes violence in society. BZZZZZZT!!! A more convincing argument is that
- cities are bigger, and bigger cities are more prone to violence because
- there is no community standard, the population is more transient, with
- no commitment to others and community. Or how about: violence has not actually
- increased, because rape, abuse etc. has been under-reported, due to social
- stigma and attitudes.

- Then do something about it. Boycott products that support and advocate
- violence (ie advertise during shows that you consider violent), and buy
- products that don't. Advertising pays for TV, and TV stations put on
- shows they think we'll watch.
