  27. No, I don't think so, actually.  You haven't posted any statistics that
  28. support your position that people dislike homosexuals *solely* because
  29. they have sex with other men.  In my conversations with people and in
  30. the research I've done, I've found that people dislike homosexuals for
  31. reasons that have little to do with the basic homosexual act itself.

  33. For example, people may dislike homosexuals because they have been told
  34. that:

  36. 1.  Homosexuals are more likely to molest children.
  37. 2.  Homosexuals are mentally ill.
  38. 3.  Homosexuals lead disfunctional lifestyles.
  39. 4.  Homosexuals want to recruit their children to homosexuality.
  40. 5.  Homosexuals (male) want to be women.
  41. 6.  Homosexuals are effeminate wimps who wear women's clothing.
  42. 7.  Homosexuals practice aberrant sado-masochistic behavior.

  44. Now, when people realize that none of this is actually true, their dislike
  45. of homosexuality almost invariably turns to complete neutrality.  Whether
  46. these myths have been propagated maliciously or innocently doesn't change
  47. the fact that many people, perhaps even most, dislike homosexuals for
  48. invalid reasons that have nothing to do with homosexuality.
