- Ah, rumor-mongering, got to love it.

- Let's see, another possibility is David Drier, congressman from
- my district who has the largest campaign warchest of anyone in
- the house (he made more in interest in 1990 than his opponent
- _spent_ that year). He had been expected to run in 1992, but he
- was recently appointed to the rules committe, which he viewed as
- the better job. I'd put it at 40% that he runs in 1994, and if he
- doesn't run or loses 100% for 1998. Drier's the nastiest sort of
- conservative republican: He seems moderate at first glance or to
- hear him give a public speech, but one look at his voting record
- completely belies the fact. Plus, as noted above, he's a master
- fund-raiser (he funded a few of his colleague's campaigns this
- year). I've heard that there are a number of dems gunning against
- Feinstein (or hoping that she runs for Governor in '94). Pure
- foolishness. Feinstein should at _least_ put in a full term in
- DC before making another run at the Governor's office and if we
- should lose one of our democratic senators, I'd much rather see
- it be Boxer (nothing substantive, I just don't like her as a
- person).
